South End Restaurant Scoop: Kava Neo-Taverna

Mediterranean Oasis meets the South End

The Upton is lucky to be located only minutes away from Kava Neo-Taverna, one of Boston’s most popular restaurants. Step inside and you’ll hear classic greek music, full belly laughs, and a table ooh-ing and ah-ing at their crispy zucchini fritters. The restaurant is small but has no shortage of vibrance or energy. They do not accept reservations, so we suggest going by 6:30pm to avoid a wait, otherwise you can put your name down on their list. This restaurant is only 6 or so minutes walking from The Upton - so the odds are highly in your favor. Putting your name down has never been easier. UPDATE: Kava is accepting limited reservations with a maximum amount of people to provide a safe dining experience. They also offer outdoor seating when weather permits. Whether you have a short or extended stay at The Upton, we highly recommend dinner at Kava Neo-Taverna. The restaurant maintains a sense of sophistication while still offering a casual environment, making it a great option for almost any occasion.

Greek salad

A classic. We once overheard the waiter saying that people have gone through their trash to find out where they get their feta. It’s that good. I’m sure you can just ask them though.

Imam

Eggplant parm but make it Greek. Arriving perfectly steaming hot, the eggplant is covered in an outfit of tomato sauce and onion. Perfect for a sauce lover.

Greek Fries

Sometimes you need fries to fill you up when the other food isn’t that satisfying. This isn’t the case here. The food is so rich and filling that fries are surprisingly not required. Hold off on these and save room for more food.
