South End Restaurant Scoop: Coppa

South End Restaurant Scoop: Coppa

The definition of the word Coppa is type of specialty Italian sausage. The restaurant name is true to the menu, which offers a modern seasonal take on meat-centric Italian style tapas, pizzas, and pastas. They source their cheeses from Formaggio, a gourmet cheese shop located directly across the street, so you know the cheese will be excellent. Start with a selection of meats and cheeses, and then order a pasta for your entree. The portion sizes are on the smaller side so if you are with a group, I recommend sharing a few of their appetizers to start. Some of their dishes have a kick to them so make sure to inform your waiter if you do not like spice. Also, their Italian sandwich is one of the best I’ve had, and I highly recommend this for a shared appetizer or a lunch entrée. Reservations at Coppa are sought after, so be sure to book ideally a month in advance or walk-in and put your name down on their list early.
